Creating space for your soul to breathe so you can discern your next right thing.

120: What to do When The World Shuts Down

Doing the next right thing has been a life-line for me in parenting, schooling, work, relationships and all manner of decision-making. But these last few weeks navigating the rapidly changing situation in our world as we fight to slow the spread of Covid-19, doing the next right thing has taken on an entirely new level of meaning.

As we move forward together I want to walk along with you as you navigate your next right thing – for yourself, in your families, with your friends, and as you carry so many question marks as it seems the world has shut down.

Listen in.

Your message is quite meaningful and the exercise of naming our personal movements helpful.Yes, Jesus was used to not being celebrated or acknowledged. From the last Sunday sermon I a phrase stuck with me. Jesus is in the boat and the storm will not last forever. Thank you for taking the time to address what your listeners are dealing with.

From the Netherlands….Thank you so much for this episode.

As a teacher I have to learn a lot in such a short period to become a digital teacher. It is difficult for some of us.
Good to hear that we all are beginners in this period of time!

    Shalom to you!

I listened to #120 last night – after realizing I was feeling many of the feelings you mentioned. I have read your transcripts before- but never listened. But now that the world has shut down- I listened. And it made all the difference! I woke up with a different mindset today- your podcast was spot-on and unbelievably helpful. I thank you for your wonderful healing ministry.

I really appreciate what you have shared about the importance of naming something. My husband is a perfectionist, a trait I admire. It makes him very very good at his career… but not so good at interpersonal relationships. When he directs it at me I have always referred to it as him being nitpicky. My son has found a word I think is better… Dad micromanages. That conveys a bit more of the positive than labeling it nitpicky and it really makes it a little easier for me to tolerate and for him to receive when I tell him he’s doing it.

So timely and so uplifting. Thank you for sharing this. We find ourselves in several of the situations you suggested: high school senior, college senior, work from home, school at home, job/pay affected and more. I keep reminding myself that God always has been and always will be on the throne. Blessings and peace to you.

Thank you so much for this episode. It was so incredibly helpful right now and helped me acknowledge some feelings about the situation I didn’t even know I had.
