The question I get asked most often is this: Can I pick your brain about writing and publishing?
For years after I published my first books, I answered weekly emails from writers wondering how to go from writing in a journal to writing for a reader.
Even with all the information available in books and online, here’s what I’ve learned: people don’t just want information. If they did, the Internet would suffice.
Instead, we want connection. We want to be able to ask our actual, specific questions about writing and publishing and have someone say, No, Emily, you are not in fact crazy. And yes, Emily, this writing life is a worthy calling.
That’s why we started hope*writers, a community of working writers dedicated to the success and creativity of each member. Our doors open three times a year (January, May, and September) and here’s where you can learn everything you need to know.
