Today, we celebrate grace and forgiveness and watching movies on the couch. We celebrate what was before, when life together was new and all about us. We celebrate what is now, with kids and blurry days of task and sit-down dinners and one-more-story. And we celebrate what will be, the future that always seems far off and later, but is to me this day. Because this life we have now, with all its messy and unexpected, is the lovely future that this dreamer always hoped to live.
Do you have a minute to stop and chat at the sky? Link up below to share with us what it is you are celebrating this day, be it simple, messy, lovely or grand.
hey friend. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! hope you have a great day. love you!
Have I mentioned that I just love your writing? I wish I could bottle it up, not once do I leave your blog un-inspired…
Cheers to celebrating, Emily!
My gift this week was special, and came in the form of an old wooden children’s game… thanks for the opportunity to share.
Happy Anniversary! Yesterday was our wedding anniversary. 24 years together and counting. Isn’t it amazing how fast they fly by? The days are often long, but the years are short.
This past week I was struck by what I saw as I was sweeping the porch. You should know you’re having a real influence on people, Emily, when you’re getting them to reflect on what they see as they sweep.
God bless you with many more years of partnership with the love of your life.
Happy Anniversary Emily! With a heart full of gratitude and humor and love as yours is, I know you will enjoy many, many more years of happiness together!
Happy anniversary! Your life, and the way you share it, are a blessing to me 🙂
Happy anniversary! After 22 years, I’m still dating my hubby. And that is what my post is about, REAL LIFE!

melissa

(and now i see where the inspiration for those black cabinets came in?)
Uplifted in the sharing of your moment, your day, your love. Congratulations and enjoy.
I shared this morning too..
Happy anniversary! Such a tremendous gift to be living the future you’d always dreamed–and a further gift to realize it as a gift now, before it becomes a looking back.
I’m printing out the last sentence you wrote and taping it to my fridge. I love that, the NOW is what I dreamed about having too. Somehow I seem to get caught up occasionally in the “was”. Your blog is a Blessing to me too & I never get tired of hearing about your mommy-days.
Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary to Emily and the man.

Happy Anniversary Emily! That is a great pic! : )
Simply beautiful… Happy 8 years!
One more thing, Emily: you were such a pretty bride. You definitely found a gown to showcase your beautiful shoulders. And you actually chose bridesmaids’ dresses that you wouldn’t embarrass you and your wedding party years later! Is that Nester looking up at you?
But you’re prettier now.
Happy Anniversary!!
Time goes so quickly. . .I know people tell us that all the time, but it is so true! I pray the next eight years are more wonderful than the last, and that you will continue to grow closer to God, and each other. . .Happy anniversary!
Congratulations! Happy Day.
Happy Anniversary! What a great photo. 🙂
Oh my – I love how the Lord works like that. I was thinking of you earlier when I emailed, but had no idea it was your anniversary today. The Lord was whispering.

happy anniversary! 🙂
Happy Anniversay! Thank you for sharing your lovely life, the “messy and unexpected,” with us.
I was married on the same day, June 23, 2001!! Unfortunately, yesterday we both forgot and my husband left for a business trip before we remembered. We texted our “happy anniversary”‘s to each other; something that wasn’t around 8 years ago. Oh, how the years have changed, not just with technology but with kids and jobs and LIFE.
Beautiful sentiments, beautiful blog, beautiful inspiration.
Thank you.
Ellen
Happy Anniversary! I know 2 other couples who were married that same day 8 years ago! I love the way you summed it all up. Perfectly imperfect.
