for your weekend

foggyMay fear, discouragement, doubt, comparison, envy, and failure not have the final say this weekend. Rather may you see Christ in the midst of all things, discerning his movement, his presence, his compassion, and his love. And may you not be surprised when you discover  the fixed point from which he longs to move into the world is not from some nebulous place out there, rather it is from an intimate place within you.

“Make ready for the Christ, Whose smile, like lightning, Sets free the song of everlasting glory that now sleeps in your paper flesh, like dynamite.”

–from The Collected Poems of Thomas Merton

Enjoy your weekend. Here are a few good reads:

  1. Margaret says

    Struggling with discouragement, doubt, comparison……ugh
Now it is time to head out to church. Satan loves my tough spots. I will NOT give in but still “feel” the emotions.
Thank you for the encouraging words!

  2. Amelinda says

Such beautiful words of encouragement. Thank you for posting and sharing how great is The Lord.
It is a comforting reminder of who He really is.

  3. says

I begged God for some encouragement this morning, and here it is on your page. Thank you for praying this prayer. I may read it 10 or 12 more times before this day is over. I don’t say it often enough, but God so often uses you to bless me. I appreciate your generosity and hard work in bringing your heart to us.
